Human Rights: More than just words

Human Rights: More than just words

Every person should be able to live in dignity and know equality, be able to eat, work, have shelter and achieve their potential through good health and education.

The Human Rights Unit works to promote and increase respect for human rights, working towards a Commonwealth in which all people can live lives of dignity, knowing justice eqality and safety. It also works with colleagues to bring human rights awareness to all areas of the organisations work.

"All our member countries are signatories to a variety of human rights conventions. Our challenge is to mainstream human rights so that laws, policies & programmes give effect to their commitments" -Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba, Deputy Secretary General
